edward cullen wooden desk calendar

Imagine this: AAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Breath! Breath! That's not me...that will be my sister Ruthie by the time she will see this Edward Cullen Wooden Desk Calendar. I was looking online for the New Moon desk calendar that I promised her few months ago and I happened to see this calendar. Whoa! A great item for all Edward's fans and can be re-use yearly...well, until Edward's picture fades or/and you fall inlove with another vampire, hehe! But my oh my!...the price is way up into the sky! I am not very sure if it's practical to purchase this given that I don't know the quality of this item. Better find the other desk calendar soon!

the time traveler's wife by audrey niffenegger

I just finished the book by Audrey Niffenegger few minutes ago. I admit I first became aware of the book when the movie based from it came out...I red praises for the book. Sad to say, I wasn't able to catch the film adaptation at the cinema so I have to wait for the vcd/dvd release sometime soon. I like the book but I'm not yet decided if I will buy a copy for myself. I like the so many twists in Henry DeTamble and Clare Abshire's lives...their friendship that blossomed into something deeper...and how the author tells their story. The movie stars Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams and I want to watch it to know if it did justice to the best-selling novel. Here are the image of the author and the movie poster.

new moon movie companion book

Yah, I know...I know! All of the Twilight fans are now so excited with the upcoming movie of the saga which will be shown next month. And even my sister Ruthie is not an exemption...I'm a fan too and will definitely grab a movie ticket as soon as possible...but she's a bigger fan. And because she's practically drooling over the The Twilight Saga New Moon The Official Illustrated Movie Companion book by Mark Cotta Vaz (whew! such a long title for a 141-paged book) that I was showing to her through webcam...I dedicate this post to her. I haven't had the time to read the book yet but I will, soon. I love the images inside and from what I saw the book is about how New Moon movie was made...it's like a behind the scene book which I will love for sure because I'm the-behind-the-scene-of-the-movie-and-book-or-whatever-kind of girl, if you know what I mean, haha! So, for my loving sister here are some images and as I've promised more Edward and Bella because I know you are a member of Team Edward! Good thing I go for Team Jacob, so there's really no conflict. This post goes also to Jenefer 'Tot'...a vampire in the making. Enjoy girls!

patrick swayze died

I was young when I first watched Patrick Swayze in a movie and I don't know it's him then. It's the Dirty Dancing (1987) which he co-starred with Jennifer Grey. I just remember the movie has lots of dancing (hehe!) but with my young mind that time I don't know why it's dirty 'though. Then came my favourite, Ghost. How I love him in that movie! Swayze died last Monday after battling pancreatic cancer for the last 20 months. He was 57.

twilight madness, harry potter madness

I know there are different translations of Twilight series now and it is so happen that someone I know who is a bilingual just recently bought a simplified chinese version of the Twilight series. Yap! She already owns the english version of the books with the original covers and she told me that she's thinking of collecting the english version with the movie covers...ehhhhh! It's Twilight madness according to her, jeje! I definitely feel for her, honestly! Well, with me and my sis Ruthie, it's called Harry Potter madness. Why? Well, simply because we still both live with our parents and we both have our own copies of the HP movies. She has vcd copies of movies HP1 to 5...and I have the vcd and dvd copies as well. Once, our Mom asked us why the need for so many copies since we are both living under one roof...she even told us we might as well have a Harry Potter Rentals because I also have the soundtrack albums and the books, hehehe! I answered her that we will not live together forever and what if we want to watch and the vcd or dvd player is not working...we are just preparing for that day whichever comes first, jeje! Come to think of it...if there's a Tagalog version of Twilight or Harry Potter I might be tempted to buy, too. As for now, I need to buy a special boxed-set of HP books that I promised Ruthie...weeeee!

harry potter 6 sticker book (from boss with love)

Thanks to my boss for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Sticker Book that she gave me the other night. So sweet and thoughtful of her to buy it especially for me, don't you think so? She knows that I love Harry Potter stuffs and I will definitely appreciate it. Sad to say, I need to collect all the 360 stickers for this book alone which will amount to 1080 HKD (roughly more than 6000 Php...whoa!). Well, I'm calling now to those people who love me dearly...you know what to give me, jeje!...just kidding. To my boss, thanks so much!

taylor lautner as jacob black as sharkboy

Sharkboy turned into a werewolf? Hmmm. Last Saturday I was able to watch Taylor Lautner's 2005 movie entitled The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl directed by Robert Rodriguez of Spy Kids movies. Taylor as Sharkboy, Taylor Dooley as Lavagirl and Cayden Boyd as Max. In that movie Taylor danced, sang and did some stunts...a real treasure for all Taylor's fans. So, go and grab a copy when you get the chance.

new moon 2010 desk calendar

Just tell me please, where can I purchase this New Moon desk calendar? I've been looking for this in webshops as well as the bookshops here in Hong Kong because I promised my sister Ruthie that I will give her one. Am I too early to buy this one or what? I hope someone can help me with this problem.

harry potter and the half-blood prince day

I know! I know this post is long, long time overdue since I watched the movie last July 19 and it's over two weeks now. Anyway, few days before that special day I asked my friend to buy three movie tickets just to be sure that we can watch it that coming Sunday. I was going to watch the movie with Jenefer and Donna, a fellow D'Wizards...and all was planned. What we didn't plan is the coming typhoon from the Philippines that hit Hong Kong that Saturday night. It was signal number 8 that night and when I went out very early the next morning (around 6:30a.m.) bus services were suspended. Yay! I need to arrive before 8 a.m. in the church so I took the trains even it's the long route. The morning passed-by rain-free until the time for our scheduled screening and Donna hasn't arrived yet. Well, what to do? The rain was still heavy in their place which is almost practically in the other side of Hong Kong from the movie house. She was few minutes late. As expected, some parts of the book are missing and some are changed. Personally, I was waiting for Harry-Ginny moments and the last scene of Dumbledore. I must admit I cried twice...during the cave and Albus' death scene. All in all, I enjoyed the movie because the affects are great and enjoyed the day because I was with Jenefer and Donna. For more of the movie's reviews and spoilers please visit Ruthie's site.

harry and ginny movie poster!

I'm going to faint! Really! Definitely! I'm waiting for this movie for so many years now...maybe for 8 years. No exaggerations! Since I first held the first Harry Potter book that I red (which is the HP3, hehehe!) I've been waiting for the day of the realisation of my dreams...my dreams for Harry and Ginny! And now, they are starting to come true...well, in HP world at least. Better calm myself now, LOL! Here's the movie poster my favourite couple. Weeeee!!!!!

emma watson to quit?

The actress who plays Hermione Granger may soon give up acting if she will not receive offers she feels strongly about as much as she felt for the Hermione role. I really feel sorry for all Emma Watson and Harry Potter movies fans out there if this will happen. Although I personally think she acts a little too much but then again she's been a part of my Harry Potter world. So, just keep your fingers cross and hope that she will continue to do movies after the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

angels and demons day

Another movie adaptation of one my favourite books and among Dan Brown's. Actually I'm kind of hoping before I watched this movie that the movie will stick true to the book unlike what they did with The Da Vinci Code. I watched the movie with Jenefer last Sunday after we had our early lunch. We arrived at the movie house with just few minutes to spare so we forgot to take pictures with the movie poster, hehehe! Anyway, I really enjoyed the movie and I believe that Jenefer did, too. Directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, Ayelet Zurer and Ewan McGregor the movie took in about US$48 million in it's first weekend release.

x-men origins: wolverine (again...)

YES!!! I spent most of my morning yesterday with Enov and the afternoon watching X-Men Origins Wolverine. After having my lunch at KFC, I spent the remaining time before the show starts by looking for a Ken doll that I owe my niece, Althea, as a birthday present. The show started around 2 in the afternoon and finished before 4. The movie's GREAT!!! Hugh is AWESOME (with or without his shirt on,hehehe)!!! The effects are fantastic! The movie has heart and I can't help to be teary-eyed for few times...the character of Wolverine really fits Hugh. The UA Cinema House 1 in Shatin was very full...even the seats nearest to the screen were occupied...whew! Good thing I purchased my ticket 3 hours before the screening time. Now, I'll just wait for the DVD release of this movie. This action prequel made an impressive US$87 million in its opening weekend making it the second highest-grossing X-men movie following the X2:X-men United. 5 STARS for Hugh and for this film!

inkheart

One of my favourite books made into film, INKHEART! YEHEY!!! I red the book few years ago and fell in love with the plot and the characters right away. When I learned that the book was made into a film I was so excited and I tried to remember all the small details in the book, hahaha! I finally watched the movie with Jen in Tsuen Wan Plaza's Broadway Cinema last April 19. I am glad that the film was true to the book and even glad that it's Brendan Fraser in the lead role. I can't wait for the Inkspell! I hope there will be Inkspell and Inkdeath! Below is Jen in front of the ticketing office of Broadway Cinema.

x-men origins: wolverine

Finally! The 20th Century Fox and Marvel will release the movie on May 1st and will be shown few days earlier in the Philippines on April 29. I started to become aware of the X-men when I was a freshman in Fatima College because my BBF Eugene started to borrow original issues of X-men comics from our Psychology professor, Cid Cristobal. They often talked about Marvel and DC comics that time so I eventually started to borrow comics too. Not long after, we grouped ourselves (with the rest of our other classmates/friends) and formed our own X-Men. So we ended up as follows: Sir Cid as Professor Xavier, Eugene as Wolverine, August as Cyclops, Babylyn as Rogue, Jaybee as Storm, Leo as Gambit and me as Jean Grey. You might guess how thrilled I was when X-men was made into 3 movies and now they will be releasing another one soon. I'm sure I'll be watching this one because I love X-Men and Hugh Jackman!
