I've heard cases before of selfless people in the midst of calamities and one of them is one of the heroes of the recent Typhoon Ondoy that hit the Philippines. He's Muelmar Magallanes, 18 years old, from Bagong Silangan, Manila, Philippines. He's been in two of HK's english newspapers yesterday, The Standard and South China Morning Post's front page. Needless to say, I cried upon reading the articles. After making sure that his parents and siblings are safe he continued to rescue more than 30 people until he gave his life for a baby girl. He was too exhausted that the strong current of the water washed him away. 09.09.09! The day for all The Beatles fanatics! The day the band's virtual game and remasters of 45 songs finally hit the stores. The album is expensive but based from the reviews it's all worth it. I just hope I can have a copy soon...anyone who cares to advance my birthday gift for next year? jeje!

It's the first grandslam for Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro after winning the US Open and defeating the world's no. 1, Roger Federer. I love RF and I hope he won the game but Del Potro was hungry for a crown and played fantastic, too. I guess for Roger and his followers...sweet 16 can wait.

patrick swayze died

I was young when I first watched Patrick Swayze in a movie and I don't know it's him then. It's the Dirty Dancing (1987) which he co-starred with Jennifer Grey. I just remember the movie has lots of dancing (hehe!) but with my young mind that time I don't know why it's dirty 'though. Then came my favourite, Ghost. How I love him in that movie! Swayze died last Monday after battling pancreatic cancer for the last 20 months. He was 57.

Starring Dennis Trillo, Marvin Agustin, Jennica Garcia and Jolina Magdangal in a romantic-comedy telenovela aired by GMA 7. Good thing I had the chance to watch the last episode of the show last Friday night. I was following it during its early weeks but due to my connection problem I wasn't able to watch the show for a couple of months. The time slot will be replaced by the Philippine version of Korea's Stairway to Heaven starring Dingdong Dantes and Rhian Ramos.

a long week last week

It's been a long week for me last week as well as this week. No interest to make any post here all those days. I spent the free time I had surfing the net and watching news about Ka Erdy...better start posting again.

It was 3:53 p.m. yesterday when Ka Eraño de Guzman Manalo died at the age of 84 due to cardiopulmonary arrest.
